All students who apply to the US colleges/universities should take American Standardized Tests that help to evaluate language proficiency and assess general knowledge of the candidates. There are no entrance examinations in the United States and tests allow to evaluate the scholastic level ofindividuals. Some more selective schools organize interviews for candidates.
EducationalAdvisingCenter does not organize tests and is not the testing site, nor the registration office. Educational adviser provides information brochures with registration forms and informs about registration procedures and tests preparation books.
Warsaw is major test center but tests can be also taken in Poznan, Gdańsk, Łódź and Lublin.
TOEFL - Test of English as a Foreign Language.
TOEFL is obligatory test for all non-native speakers of the English language that confirms the level ofEnglish language proficiency. There are different types of TOEFL administration all over the world. PBT TOEFL - paper based version, scored 0-677,CBT computer based 0-300and iBT Internet Based Version scored 0-120. iBT TOEFL is the only TOEFL test available in Poland. Majority of US schools accept candidates with 550 in PBT, 213 in CBP and 79/80 iBT Toefl score. More selective schools require much higher scores.
